Electronic cigarettes don't adversely affect cardiac function

A small study comparing users of electronic cigarettes with conventional smokers shows that the former appear to experience few adverse cardiac effects, although they did have a slight increase in diastolic blood pressure. E-cigarettes are therefore a useful tobacco-harm-reduction product, says the researcher, while adding that much more study of this new phenomenon is needed.
