No Adverse Effects of E-Cigarettes, But More Research Needed

A small study comparing users of electronic cigarettes with conventional smokers shows that the former appear to experience few adverse cardiac effects, although they did have a slight increase in diastolic blood pressure. E-cigarettes are therefore a useful tobacco-harm–reduction product, says the researcher, while adding that much more study of this new phenomenon is needed.

  1. I did hear that regular smoking could bring about cardiovascular problems but never did it occur to me that ecigarettes could bring about the same effects. A slight increase in diastolic blood pressure can't conclusively lead to lethal cardiac effects.. I can't believe people would spread such speculations without having much proof. One thing's for sure though, some more studies need to be conducted, so that everything would be cleared out..

  2. Normally, e-cigarettes should not be deemed as a 100% harmless thing. After all, it's basically designed for smokers and it still has nicotine. So we can still expect some flaws and pros in it.
