DES bests balloon angioplasty in treating infrapopliteal artery disease

The rate of angiographic restenosis was lower and vessel patency was higher among symptomatic patients treated with a sirolimus-eluting stent, suggesting that it might a "promising therapeutic alternative" to percutaneous transluminal balloon angioplasty, say researchers.
