Starting BP meds ups risk of hip fracture in elderly

A new Canadian study shows, for the first time, that there appears to be a "danger" period immediately after the start of antihypertensive drug therapy, in which the risk of hip fractures is increased by almost 50%, at least among those aged 66 and older.
